New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: The run-up event to BRICS Youth Council Entrepreneurship Working Group Meeting, slated for March 3-7, will be held at KIIT, Bhubaneswar.
The tentative date for the event is February 4, according to Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Eight such events are be organised by the Ministry in various universities and colleges to increase the understanding of the youth on the relevant areas of the Working Group Meeting. “These run-up events will not only help the youth of the nation understand contemporary global issues and the importance of various multilateral forums but also help them develop an international perspective,” a PIB release said.
It will also provide a forum for healthy discussions and dissemination of India’s agenda on entrepreneurship at the grassroots level.
The first run-up event took place at Miranda House, Delhi University, on January 15, the second at Mata Sundri College for Women, Delhi, on January 17 and the third was held at IIM Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir, on January 24, followed by the fourth at NFSU, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, on January 28.
While KIIT will host the 5th run-up event, the 6th is scheduled to be organised at IIT Guwahati, Assam, on February 7 and the 7th at IISc, Bengaluru, on February 11.
The theme of this year’s meeting, which is likely to be attended by 45 youth representatives from BRICS countries, is ‘Youth Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Growth’. The representatives will share their experiences in youth-related work and discuss cooperation in the field of entrepreneurship amongst BRICS countries.

- Exploring concrete actions in youth cooperation of BRICS countries, in the field of Entrepreneurship.
- Discussing the creation of new youth formats according to the prioritized directions in the framework of BRICS and the Working Groups Meetings.
- Connecting participants to the international Entrepreneurship opportunities that exist within the BRICS countries.
