Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday said that 12 districts in Odisha will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall under the influence of the cyclonic storm Fani in the next 48 hours.
According to the IMD, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected to lash the south coastal districts of Malkangiri Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Khurda and Puri on May 2.
On May 3, the intensity and the spread of rains would increase further with heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in the coastal areas of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara and Puri, Ganjam Gajapati, Kandhamal Kalahandi, Angul and Keonjhar.
On May 4, as the cyclonic storm would start moving north towards Gangetic West Bengal and Bangladesh, the weather over Odisha will improve despite moderate rainfall at some places.
