New Delhi: The 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit is set to take place at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on September 12 and 13, with BRICS leaders scheduled to participate in the opening day’s proceedings, followed by partner countries and outreach invitees on September 13.
The Ministry of External Affairs has released the detailed programme for the two-day summit.
BRICS summit schedule
On Saturday, September 12, BRICS leaders will begin arriving at 2 pm. A closed-door session focusing on multilateralism is scheduled for 2.35 pm.
The leaders will visit the Bharat Innovates Exhibition at 4.25 pm, followed by a family photograph at 5.05 pm. A joint tree plantation programme will take place at 5.10 pm.
The first day will conclude with a gala dinner hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 7.30 pm.
On Sunday, September 13, leaders from partner countries and outreach invitees are expected to arrive from 9.55 am. A family photograph is scheduled for 10.35 am, followed by an open session on inclusive global growth at 10.50 am.
Delhi airport prepares for increased international traffic
With the summit expected to bring a rise in international passenger and aircraft movements, Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) has undertaken a series of measures to strengthen its handling capacity at Terminal 3, news agency PTI reported.
