Know What Odisha Minister Has To Say On Conducting Plus II Exams Amid COVID Pandemic
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will take a decision on whether to conduct or withhold Plus II exams after the air is cleared on CBSE Class XII exams, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash informed on Monday.
“The department is awaiting the decision on Class XII examinations of CBSE, which is currently subjudice. We are hopeful of taking a decision in June first week,” Dash further said.
Notably, the Supreme Court (SC) has adjourned the hearing of the plea regarding Class XII board exams till June 3.
The apex court on Monday was informed that the government will take a final decision on whether to conduct class 12 board exams amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic within the next two days.
“No issue. You take the decision. You are entitled to it. If you are departing from the policy of last year, then you must give tangible reasons for it,” the bench comprising of Justices A M Khanwilkar and Dinesh Maheshwari said.
Advocate Mamta Sharma, who has filed the petition, has demanded that the board exams be cancelled.
