Mumbai: Are you confused about the latest fashion trend? Do you need some help to revamp your wardrobe for staying fashion forward? Well, here’s a recap of the Lakme Fashion Week 2025 held in collaboration with the Fashion Design Council of India. Every season, LFW showcases some of the most exciting trends in fashion with your favorites celebs turning heads in the hottest and coolest attires on the ramp. This season, LFW once again turned the spotlight on latest fashion hits with corsets, mixed metals, traditional and sustainable outfits, amongst others. Here’s a quick look at what caught the eyes during the five-day-long fashion extravaganza:

Athleisure in a new avataar

Athleisure is definitely what the Gen Z wants. But this comfortable segment was jazzed up a bit to add a glamour quotient to this line of clothing. Designers have tapped into this interest and given athleisure a glamorous spin during LFW 2025. Designer Namrata Joshipura, a former athlete herself, truly redefined the genre with her new collection by giving the sportswear a bold appeal, peppy prints, a funky colour palette with a hint of sequins.

Menswear goes cool

There was a lot of twists and spin when it came to the menswear. But, it wasn’t very loud or something that would require too much of an effort. The experimentation was I the introduction of culottes, a playful colour palette, and interesting layering. Several collections added a bit of fun to this segment by breaking the monotony. Labels like Falguni Shane Peacock, S&N by Shantnu Nikhil and Abhichiq led the trend.

Corsets, always in!

India’s obsession with corsets is only set to soar this year. This was something clearly evident at the Lakme Fashion Week 2025. From embellished numbers to the ones boasting zippers, antique appeal and billowing silhouettes, there was a variety of corsets that became instant hit with the LFW audience.

Blend of tradition & modernity

Designers turned to the art of modernising the traditional treasures of Indian fashion. Bandhani was reimagined for a modern appeal. Many celebrities and models were spotted wearing traditional prints or fabrics, styled up in a modern way. Janhvi’s Bandhani gown was the talk of the town.
