No evidence of rape in Koraput minor girl case: HRPC ADG

Bhubaneswar: In a twist to gang rape of a minor girl near Kunduli in Koraput district, Human Rights Protection Cell (HRPC) ADG Mahendra Pratap claimed that there is no evidence of rape.

“The medical reports of the victim comprising the statements of the  medical experts treating the victim at Kunduli, Jeypore, and MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur which was submitted to Odisha Human Rights Commission yesterday stated that no proof of gang rape was found after examination of the girl,” Pratap said, adding that investigation into the matter was, however, still on.

Meanwhile, DGP Rajendra Prasad Sharma said, “Movement of security forces has not yet been established. Koraput SP has acquired a lead in the case. Further investigation is in progress.”

The Class-IX student had gone to Kunduli village in connection with Aadhaar card on October 10. While returning home, four unidentified men in uniform allegedly dragged her into a nearby forest and raped her.
