Mumbai: Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon recently made history by becoming the first Indian actress to address the World Health Summit 2025 held in Berlin.
At the high-level session titled “Women’s Health – Global Wealth: Catalysing Returns on Bold Investments,” Kriti highlighted the pressing issue of women’s health and gender equality.
The actress, who serves as UNFPA India’s Honorary Ambassador for Gender Equality, urged governments and institutions across the globe to prioritise women’s health.
“Women’s health is not a side issue. It is the cornerstone of humanity’s progress, prosperity, and future,” she said.
The Indian actress used the global platform to point out that while women constitute nearly half of the global population, investments made in their well-being and health remain considerably low.
“Investing in women’s health is not just a moral imperative; it is a strategic investment in our collective future,” she mentioned, adding that healthier women strengthen families, communities, and economies.
