Mumbai: ‘The Traitors Season 2’ has crowned its winners, with Krystle D’Souza and Rida Tharana emerging victorious as the season’s ‘Traitors’.
The duo outsmarted their fellow contestants throughout the game to clinch the title and take home the ₹66 lakh prize money.
In the finale, Krystle and Rida successfully voted out the remaining ‘Faithfuls’, Shalini Passi and Saahil Salathia, to become the last contestants standing.
The final episode began with the ‘murder’ of Mallika Sherawat at the start of the last day in the palace, setting the stage for a tense showdown.
The contestants still in the running were Dalip Tahil, Shalini Passi and Saahil Salathia. During the final mission, they worked as a team to increase the prize pot by collecting gold coins from the backs of camels.
After the task, Krystle and Rida decided to target Dalip. Their plan succeeded, and he was eliminated during the final Circle of Shaq.
The final stage then saw Krystle, Rida, Saahil and Shalini compete for the title. As they took turns voting each other out in front of host Karan Johar, Saahil was the first to be eliminated. Shalini was subsequently voted out by both Krystle and Rida.
Reacting to the betrayal, Shalini said that life would teach the duo a “lesson” for breaking her trust.
Krystle and Rida were ultimately the final two contestants standing, with both revealed to be ‘Traitors’.
Karan Johar declared them the winners, after which the duo embraced and celebrated their victory.
Krystle could have chosen to turn against Rida in the final stages but decided to remain loyal to her fellow ‘Traitor’. She said she would rather be a “girl’s girl” and keep Rida by her side, valuing the support they had shared throughout the game.
The Traitors features a group of contestants who must work together to identify and eliminate the ‘Traitors’ among them, while the Traitors attempt to remain undetected and make it to the end.
The ‘Innocents’ must identify the ‘Traitors’ among them and vote them out before they are ‘murdered’ as part of the game.
Originally a Dutch reality format titled De Verraders, the show has since been adapted in several countries, including the US and UK.
This season featured a star-studded line-up comprising Aaditya Kulshreshth (Kullu), Abhishek Malhan (Fukraa Insaan), Ansh Chopra, Dalip Tahil, Harman Singha, Ikka Singh, Karan Singh Magic, Krystle D’Souza, Mallika Sherawat, Munawar Faruqui, Parul Gulati, Prish and Ranveer Brar.
Rhea Chakraborty, Rida Tharana, Saahil Salathia, Shahneel Gill, Shalini Passi, Shweta Tiwari, Soundous Moufakir and Tanya Puri were also among the contestants competing this season.
