Bhubaneswar: Even as Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) went ahead with collection of students’ fees online for the first quarter of 2020-21 session from May 22, despite the parents’ demand for waiver.
The Parents Association of Odisha had requested State and Central government to waive off the fee and withdraw the KVS order in this regard. The association members said since many parents are facing several financial problems due to COVID-19 pandemic, depositing school fees for readmission, day-boarding, establishment cost and transport had become a mental and emotional burden for them.
But the KVS remained indifferent to the parents’ plea and continued collection of the fees online through Union Bank of India.
