Landslide In Odisha’s Koraput Hits Train Services; 6 Cancelled, 4 Short-Terminated
Koraput: Train services were affected as boulders fell on railway tracks between Manabar and Jirati stations in Odisha’s Koraput district in early hours of Sunday.
According to sources, boulders and soil came crashing down on the track at around 3 am when work for doubling of the line was underway. The landslide has lead to cancellation of several trains while Jagdalpur-Visakhapatnam Express has been halted at Koraput station and Samaleswari Express at Jeypore station. Around 10 electric poles have also been damaged.
Restoration work is underway.
Six trains on the route have been cancelled and four short terminated, Waltair railway division (Visakhapatnam) informed.
