Last Rites Of Eminent Writer Manoj Das To Be Held At Puducherry With National Honour
Bhubaneswar: The last rites of eminent writer Manoj Das will be held at Puducherry with national honour. Tourism and Culture Minister Jyotiprakash Panigrahi will attend the funeral.
While offering his condolence to family members of the author, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik through his twitter handle urged the Puducherry government to conduct the last rites of Das with national honour.
ରାଷ୍ଟ୍ରୀୟ ସମ୍ମାନ ସହ ସ୍ବର୍ଗତ ମନୋଜ ଦାସଙ୍କ ଶେଷକୃତ୍ୟ ସମ୍ପନ୍ନ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଓଡିଶା ସରକାରଙ୍କ ପକ୍ଷରୁ ପଣ୍ଡିଚେରୀ ସରକାରଙ୍କୁ ଅନୁରୋଧ କରାଯାଇଛି। ମୁଖ୍ୟମନ୍ତ୍ରୀଙ୍କ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶ କ୍ରମେ ରାଜ୍ୟ ସରକାରଙ୍କ ପକ୍ଷରୁ ମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଶ୍ରୀ ଜ୍ୟୋତି ପ୍ରକାଶ ପାଣିଗ୍ରାହୀ ସ୍ବର୍ଗତ ଦାସଙ୍କ ଶେଷକୃତ୍ୟରେ ଯୋଗ ଦେବେ।

Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also made similar request.
Das passed away in a nursing home of Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Puducherry on Tuesday. He was undergoing treatment there for old age ailments.
He is considered as the foremost bilingual Odia writer and a master of dramatic expression both in his English and Odia short stories and novels.
