Bhubaneswar: The Excise sleuths on Saturday arrested three persons, including a law student, on charges of peddling brown sugar in Bhubaneswar.
Those arrested have been identified Debiprasad Das, son of a well-known contractor studying Law in a city-based college, and his aides, Sukanta Nayak and Santosh Nayak. They were nabbed in Forest Park area with 265 grams of brown sugar.

Sources said Das allegedly operated through his two associate, forming a network that targeted college students. The group reportedly used WhatsApp and other social media platforms to connect with buyers and facilitate deliveries.
Das was earlier booked in a murder case under Airfield police limits.
