Bhubaneswar: Subhadra Yojana money will be transferred to the accounts of women eligible but yet to receive the benefits, on April 22 and 23, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida informed on Monday.

She said that this will be done after a survey, categorising ineligible beneficiaries, is completed.

“We received around 1.7 lakh new applications after the March 31 deadline. The district administrations will conduct a door-to-door verification of these applicants. Following which, the money will transferred to those eligible under the scheme on April 22 and 23,” she said.

The Deputy CM informed that some women had received the first instalment money but were later excluded under the scheme and marked ineligible for having applied for loans by showing IT returns above Rs 5 lakh. “Post April 14, a fresh door-to-door verification will be conducted to categorise the ineligible cases. The idea is to ensure the actual eligible women are not deprived of benefits. Efforts are being made to ensure that only deserving candidates get the benefits,” she said.

Parida clarified that no fresh applications will be accepted and data already received through the portal will be verified. “The third installment of the money will be disbursed after the survey of the rejection list, which will include around 1 lakh women excluded from the second installment and those among the 1.7 lakh new applicants found ineligible,” she said.

She added that registration under the scheme will be reopened for those who have attained the age of 21, once this exercise is completed and the third installment money is disbursed.

Women within the age group of 21 to 60 years are eligible under the scheme, which envisages providing financial assistance of Rs 50,000 over five years (2024-25 to 2028-29) to make them financially independent and self-reliant. The state government will spend over Rs 55,825 crore on the scheme in five years and has already allocated Rs 10,145 crore for the 2025-26 fiscal.

Over one crore beneficiaries have been covered under the women-centric fund transfer scheme and received the first instalment of Rs 5,000 in five phases. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi disbursed over ₹5,000 crore for 1.18 crore women beneficiaries of the state’s flagship Subhadra Yojana on March 8, coinciding with the International Women’s Day. The third instalment of the Subhadra Yojana will also be credited directly to women beneficiaries during the upcoming Raksha Bandhan festival.
