Levy Calls Out Comedy Central India For Censoring Gay Kiss Scene
Schitt’s Creek co-creator and star Daniel Levy called out Comedy Central India for censoring a kiss scene between two male characters, David (played by Daniel) and Ted, in the multiple Emmy-winning series.
Levy retweeted a post from March 19, 2019, from the TV channel’s page where the kiss between David and Ted (played by actor Dustin Milligan) had been edited from the three-minute clip.
Levy criticized the channel for removing that kiss while retaining other kissing scenes — between Stevie (played by Emily Hampshire) and Alexis (played by Annie Murphy) — from the same episode of the fifth season.
“This is a show about the power of inclusivity. The censorship of gay intimacy is making a harmful statement against that message. #LoveIsLove,” Emmy award-winning actor Levy tweeted.
You showed the kiss between two women, you showed the kiss between a woman and a man, then removed the kiss between two men? This is a show about the power of inclusivity. The censorship of gay intimacy is making a harmful statement against that message. #loveislove https://t.co/3ouNbuetq1
