Location Finalised For Rly Division In Odisha’s Rayagada After Union Minister’s Green Signal

Rayagada: Putting rest to all uncertainties, the location of the proposed railway division under East Coast Railway (ECoR) in Rayagada has been finalised within 24 hours of the visit of Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to the district.

The minister reviewed the master plan for the division office and gave his green signal during his one-day visit on Saturday. The railway division will come up on 125.78 acre of land which has been divided into six parts. The buildings of the division’s main office, RPF barrack, health centre, chief engineer’s office and mechanical section will be constructed on the identified land.

As per the plan, 50.72 acre has been identified for the project at site-I, 38.76 acre at site-II, 9.41 acre at site-III, 15.91 acre at site-IV, 8.88 acre at site-V, 1.72 acre at site-VI and 0.38 acre for health centre.

The buildings will come up along national highway-326 from FCI square to Ramkrishnanagar at different locations. Besides the main office, other infrastructure will come up in 500 acre of land.

According to sources, the budget for the division office has been pegged at Rs 400 crore. However, the final estimate will be decided after the detailed project report (DPR) is drawn up.

Prime minister Narendra Modi is likely to lay the foundation stone for the division after the railway minister submits his report to the former.

It may be noted that former railway minister Piyush Goyal had made the announcement of setting up the railway division at Rayagada before general elections in 2019.
