Berhampur: Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange on Sunday said that vehicle movement will be permitted following relaxation of restrictions during lockdown 2.0 from Monday.
However, it comes with a rider.
Elaborating on the guidelines issued by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, the collector said that private vehicles for emergency services, including medical and veterinary care, and for procuring essential commodities will be allowed.
“No pillion riders will be allowed in case of two-wheelers. However, one passenger, besides the private vehicle driver, can travel in the backseat of a four-wheeler,” he said.
Plying of private transport vehicles will remain suspended as per the guidelines, he said.
However, private vehicles will not be allowed for procuring essential commodities in urban areas of Odisha classified as high-risk (Khurda, Cuttack, Bhadrak, Sundargarh, Kendrapada, Puri, Jajpur, Kalahandi and Dhenkanal) by National Disaster Management Authority.
Kulange said social distancing monitoring squads have been formed to ensure that shops in the district adhere to the norms. Action will be taken against the violators, he added.
“All places of worship will strictly remain closed till May 3. Restrictions on social function and attendance at funerals will continue,” he said.
All construction works will be taken up by maintain social distancing norms, he added.
