Bhubaneswar: Taking note of the unsavoury incidents by some Odisha returnee migrant workers in the quarantine centres, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday appealed to them to strictly abide by the rules.
Stating that a slight carelessness will put the society in danger, he urged the returnees to meticulously follow the quarantine rules to save themselves and their families from the deadly novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
“The sarpanches have been asked to apprise the government of any violation of the quarantine rules. The government will take drastic action against the violators on the basis of their report,” the Chief Minister warned.
Maintaining that compared to other states, the situation is much better in Odisha, he said as the entire health staff including the doctors, nurses, health workers, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers and the government machinery have been working day and night to contain the spread of the virus, those who are returning to their state should also take the responsibility and cooperate with the government to succeed in its mission.
