Lockdown Relaxation For Some Shops In Odisha, Find Out More Here
Bhubaneswar: In an attempt to streamline the lockdown period, the Odisha government on Wednesday decided to allow roadside dhabas, vehicle repair shops and spare part shops located alongside the National and State highways to open to ensure unhindered movement of goods transport vehicles.
All these units will be allowed to open at the rate of 1 every 20 km or as deemed fit by the District Administration, while taking care that it is located away from the towns and cities. This was stated in a letter by the Principal Secretary of the Water Resources department who is also member of the State Level Monitoring Unit on Goods and Services to the Collectors and SPs.
Collectors will decide and grant permission through the civil supply officers and regional transport officers in this regard, the letter mentioned.
Highway patrol will ensure that there is no congregation at any particular dhabas. Also, except goods carriers, none other persons must be allowed.
“No goods vehicle, carrying essential, non-essential or empty shall be stopped by police or any other authority. No passes are required for any goods vehicle across Odisha including Bhubaneswar & Cuttack,” the letter read.
