Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha To Have Different Timings For Budget Session; Know Why

New Delhi: There will be separate 5-hour time slots each for Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha for meetings during the Budget Session beginning on January 31. This is aimed at ensuring COVID distancing norms during the session.

The lower house (Lok Sabha) will meet at 11 am on February 1 to present the Union Budget and it will meet from 4 pm to 9 pm between February 2 and February 11, reported news agency PTI.

Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha chambers will have their galleries filled with members during the sittings in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, said a Lok Sabha bulletin. Though the exact timings of Rajya Sabha are not yet formally notified, it is likely to meet between 9 am and 2 pm.

President Ram Nath Kovind will address both Houses of Parliament on January 31. The second part of the session will be conducted from March 14 to April 8. But the timings of sittings are not yet clear for the budget session’s Part II.
