New Delhi: The Donald Trump administration is facing several court cases challenging the various decisions being taken by the US President since being sworn in for his second term in White House on January 20.
The list of lawsuits is set to grow as California governor Gavin Newsom said he will sue the Trump administration after the President ordered the deployment of National Guard in Los Angeles.
Around 2,000 National Guard personnel were deployed in Los Angeles as part of Trump’s clampdown on anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) protests.
The California governor accused Trump of “flaming the fires” and acting “illegally” to “federalise the National Guard.”
“The order he signed doesn’t just apply to CA. It will allow him to go into ANY STATE and do the same thing. We’re suing him,” Newsom announced on X.
In an earlier tweet, Newsom slammed Trump for acting like a dictator.
“Inciting and provoking violence; Creating mass chaos; Militarizing cities; Arresting opponents. These are the acts of a dictator, not a President,” Newsom wrote.
Newsom apart, other Democrats in California, including former US Vice-President Kamala Harris, also pulled up Trump for deploying the National Guard in Los Angeles.
