Koraput: S S Rajamouli’s upcoming big-budget film ‘SSMB29’ is being shot in the scenic Talamali Hills under the Semiliguda block in Odisha’s Koraput.
According to reports, South superstars Mahesh Babu, Prithviraj Sukumaran along with actress Priyanka Chopra are in Koraput for the film’s shoot. The district administration has granted permission for filming in Talamali and Deomali until March 28.
Mahesh Babu was captured departing from Hyderabad airport on March 5 for the second shooting schedule of the film.
Earlier, Rajamouli’s technical team had finalised the locations for the action-packed jungle adventure film, which is being made under the Durga Art banner with a massive budget of approximately ₹1,000 crore. Major shooting locations include scenic spots like Deomali, Talamali, and Machkund, with the first schedule primarily focused on Talamali.
The production team has booked all the lodges in Semiliguda to accommodate its 500-member crew, Nation Now reported.
Mahesh was last seen in ‘Guntur Kaaram’, and Rajamouli’s last film was ‘RRR’.

Last year, ‘Pushpa 2’, directed by Sukumar and starring Allu Arjun, was filmed in Machhkund, Lamtaput and Duduma. Tollywood superstar Venkatesh’s recent hit film ‘Sankranthiki Vasthunam; had key scenes shot at Balda Caves in Koraput. Actress Anushka Shetty had also visited the region last year for the film ‘Ghaati’, shot extensively in Deomali, Jeypore, Kolab, and Machhkund.
