As per the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, timely maintenance of a vehicle is a must. Using a defective vehicle can attract a fine of Rs 1,500 as it can be hazardous to road safety.
A person using a defective vehicle can be fined under Section 190 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
