Bhubaneswar: Three shops were gutted after a fire broke out in the Unit-1 market in Odisha capital on Tuesday night.
According to Assistant Fire Officer Susanta Biswal, a fire broke out in a mobile repair shop around 10.50 pm due to a short circuit and soon spread to the nearby shops.
On being informed, fire tenders from Kalpana Fire Station and the Secretariat Fire Station rushed to the market and doused the flames within an hour.
Three shops were completely gutted while six shops were partially affected, Biswal said.
Due to the timely action of the fire brigade, a major incident was averted, he added.
