Kolkata: In her latest jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that industrial growth has stopped in the country but the “growth of beard” is still on.
“Something is wrong with his brain. It seems his screw is loose. Sometimes he calls himself Swami Vivekananda and Rabindranath Tagore while on the other hand, he renames stadiums in his name,” Mamata said at an election rally on Friday.
The ruling Trinamool Congress and BJP are locked in a fierce tussle to capture power in the state. West Bengal assembly elections are to be held in as many as eight phases, the first of which will be held on Saturday for 30 constituencies.
In another rally earlier this month, Mamata had said: “The Prime Minister has named a stadium after him. He has put his photographs on COVID-19 vaccination certificates. He is making ISRO send his picture to space. A day will come when the country will be named after him.”
