On February 25, Jhili’s father filed a complaint with police, alleging that his daughter was being tortured by her husband and in-laws since her marriage three years back. Her in-laws also demanded gold jewellery and money for car. “Her husband strangulated her to death with her blouse. Her in-laws including her husband had been demanding gold chain and money for car. We were not even allowed to see her body,” alleged Jhili’s brother Kalandi Sethi told the media.
