Man Beats Younger Brother To Death In Balangir

Balangir: A man allegedly hit his younger brother with an iron rod, leading to his death, at Dapmal village in Balangir district on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Buddhadev Pradhan.
A heated exchange of words ensued between Buddhadev and his elder brother over a family feud. In a fit of rage, the elder brother allegedly beat him with an bamboo stick and an iron rod. Buddhadev died on the spot.
On being informed about the incident from neighbours, police rushed to the spot and seized the body for post-mortem.
Some villagers said that a longstanding family dispute existed among members of the family.
On the basis of the statements, police have detained 11 members of the family, including two women.
