New Delhi: A 25-year-old man was arrested by Delhi Police on Saturday for allegedly giving a death threat to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, police said. The man has been identified as Shlok Tripathi. But multiple reports quoting police sources claimed that the accused was a fraudster and frequently changed his identity.
The accused made the threat call on emergency helpline 112 in neighbouring Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday under the influence of alcohol, a Times of India report claimed.
He is being interrogated in the office of the force’s Special Cell in northwest Delhi.
The Ghaziabad police alerted their Delhi counterparts and also dispatched a team to Panchwati Colony, from where the call was reportedly made. The accused had to evade arrest initially, said ACP of Ghaziabad Police, Ritesh Tripathi.
