Man Held For ‘Murdering’ Brother & Nephew In Odisha’s Sambalpur
Sambalpur: Police recovered the bodies of a man and his 4-year-old son from a septic tank at Taladihi village near Gobindpur in Sambalpur district on Tuesday.
They also found the deceased’s severely injured wife near their house and took her to the district headquarters hospital.
The deceased were identified as Dilip Majhi and his son Biswaraj. The woman was identified as Sarita Majhi.
Following the discovery of the bodies, police detained the deceased’s younger brother, Satanan Majhi, for interrogation for his alleged role in the double murder.
According to police sources, preliminary investigation has revealed that the incident took place on Monday night when Sanatan barged into Dilip’s house and killed him and his son with an axe. He then attacked the woman.
Police said the two brothers were embroiled in a land dispute for a long time.
