Man Killed In Road Mishap During ‘Zero Fatality Week’ In Odisha’s Sonepur
Sonepur: Despite “Zero Fatality Week” observed in the state, accidents continued to claim lives as a man was killed in a collision between his motorcycle and a car in Odisha’s Subarnapur district on Monday evening.
According to sources, the man, identified as Santosh Kumar Guru of Malipada in Sonepur town, was going on his bike on some work in the evening when he collided with a car on the ring road near river Mahanadi.
The locals rushed him to the district headquarters hospital. But the doctors in the hospital declared him brought dead. He was an employee of Transport department and engaged in the district office.
On being informed, a team from Sonepur police station went to the spot and started investigation. They have also seized both vehicles.
It may be noted that a middle-age couple was killed in Nuapada, a truck driver died in Mayurbhanj and a person lost his life in Bhubaneswar in road accidents on Sunday. On Saturday, three persons were killed in road mishaps in Balangir and Nuapada.
