Rourkela: A man allegedly killed his elder brother and sister-in-law over a land dispute at a village in Odisha’s Sundargarh district.
Police said the gruesome incident took place at Chirubeda village under the jurisdiction of Bisra police station of the district on Monday night.
The deceased have been identified as N M Munda (57) and his wife Shobha Munda (50).
The accused, identified as Namjang Munda (35) of the village, hacked his elder brother N M Munda and sister-in-law Shobha to death over a long-standing land dispute among the brothers.
Locals said the accused attacked the couple with a sharp weapon while the victims were asleep, killing both on the spot.
The weapon used in the murder has been seized and the accused arrested. Further investigation is underway, a senior police official said.
