Paralakhemundi: A man allegedly killed his wife on suspicion of extra-marital affair and then died by suicide at a village in Odisha’s Gajapati district.
The incident reportedly took place at Gaiba village under Serango police limits in Gajapati district. The man, identified as Narendra Paika, allegedly strangled his wife Monika on Monday morning.
He later recorded a video confessing to the crime, which has since gone viral on social media. His body was found hanging from a tree in a nearby forested area later.
As per sources, Monika and Narendra had got married after a love affair and were living together at her in-laws’ house. However, disputes reportedly erupted between the two frequently over suspicions of infidelity.
In the video, Narendra accused Monalisa of being involved in a relationship with another man, allegedly with the support of her mother.
After getting information about the incident, police reached the spot, recovered both bodies, and sent them for postmortem. Investigation is in progress.
