Cuttack: A woman was critically injured after being allegedly attacked by her husband with a knife at Shishua village under Banki area of Odisha’s Cuttack district on Wednesday. Her parents also sustained grievous injuries in the attack.
As per preliminary information, the reportedly turned furious after his wife refused to return from her parent’s house with him and resorted to violence.
Sources said the man reached his in-laws’ house on Monday evening and began arguing with his wife, identified as Pushpa Das, asking her to accompany him back.
When she refused, he allegedly took out a knife and attacked her in a fit of rage, causing severe injuries. When her parents rushed to intervene, he attacked them as well, leaving all three injured.
Locals rushed to the spot, rescued the injured and immediately shifted them to Banki Sub-Divisional Hospital.
Pushpa was later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital and Hospital in Cuttack for advanced treatment. Her condition was stated to be critical.
