Man Surrenders After Killing Wife, ‘Paramour’ In Balasore

Balasore: Panic gripped Sahadevkhunta in Odisha’s Balasore district as a man surrendered before the police on Tuesday morning after killing his wife and a youth in his house the previous night.

The deceased has been identified as Laxmipriya Sahu and Pradip Kumar Dey.

According to police, the accused and his wife Laxmipriya belong to Durgadebi village in Remuna block in Balasore district and they had been staying in a rented house in the Bank Colony at Sahadevkhunta.

The accused had lost his job and was sitting idle while his wife worked in a private company. Kailash used to suspect his wife of having an extra-marital affair because of which the couple had a frequent altercation, police added.

The incident took place on Monday night when Kailash found his wife with Dey in his house. Enraged, he hacked them to death with an axe. After killing the duo, he informed his in-laws about it and later surrendered before the police.

Meanwhile, police have sent the bodies for postmortem while the interrogation of the accused, who was later arrested, is underway.
