Malkangiri: Maoist posters were found at different places in Chitrakonda block of Malkangiri district on Sunday morning.
The posters signed by the outlawed CPI (Maoist) group surfaced at Papluru and Kurumanur panchayats.
Through the hand-written posters, the ultras have accused the police of encouraging ganja cultivation in the region and warned them of dire consequences, if they continued with the practice.
“The local police are taking Rs 1 lakh inducement from the ganja cultivators. The amount stands at Rs 3 lakh at the district headquarters level. Not only police, the excise officials are also taking bribe to the tune of Rs 5 lakh from each ganja farmer”, the posters said.
Receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot and seized the posters.
Security has been intensified to prevent escalation of tension in the locality.
