Maruti Suzuki Recalls 87,000 Units Of S-Presso And Eeco; Here’s Why
New Delhi: In one of its biggest recalls in recent times, Maruti Suzuki has issued a recall for over 87,000 units of the S-Presso micro-SUV or the Eco MPV. The recall has been issued due to a faulty component in the steering setup of both the Maruti Suzuki cars. It reportedly affects vehicles built in the past couple of years. To address the issue in the affected vehicles, Maruti Suzuki has assured that owners of the S-Presso and Eeco will be contacted and asked to contact their nearest authorised dealer to get the issue resolved. Owners can expect the replacement of parts and labour free of cost, according to a Times of India report.
Maruti Suzuki has stated that 87,559 units of the micro-SUV and the MPV have a possible defect in the steering tie rod. The statement also warned that in rare cases, the tie rod may even break and hamper the vehicle’s steering and handling capabilities. Specifically, the S-Presso and Eco models built between July 5, 2021, and February 15, 2023, suffer from faulty steering equipment.
Earlier in 2020, 1.34 lakh units of the Wagon and the Baleno were recalled for a faulty fuel pump, while nearly two lakh units of various models got recalled for a faulty motor generator in 2021.
