Kolkata: Internationally acclaimed Odia athlete Dutee Chand has bagged a prized endorsement deal. She will be the brand ambassador of Senco Gold & Diamonds, a leading jewellery retail chain based in Kolkata.
Making the announcement at a virtual press conference on Wednesday, the company said the sprinter will be promoting its ‘Everlite’ lightweight jewellery range.
The brand is also celebrating the Pride month and has rolled out a campaign in honour of the LGBT community #MorePowerToPride #loveislove.
A new range of Everlite jewellery, named ‘Love is love Collection’, was unveiled by Senco Gold & Diamonds CEO Suvankar Sen.
Dutee, national champion in women’s 100m, is the first Indian female athlete to reveal her same-sex relationship.
“It gives me immense pleasure to be the brand ambassador of Senco Gold & Diamonds. I think this is a unique association of a jewellery brand with an athlete, and I am really happy that Senco Gold will be supporting me in my quest. I look forward to a successful relationship with them. I really hope I can visit a showroom once the pandemic and Olympics are over,” said Dutee.
