Bhubaneswar: The Congress party has appointed Meenakshi Bahinipati as president of Odisha Pradesh Mahila Congress.
The All India Congress Committee (AICC), in a press release on Tuesday, stated that national president of the party Mallikarjun Kharge has approved the proposal for appointment of Meenakhi as president of Odisha Pradesh Mahila Congress.
Meenakshi, who is presently serving as general secretary of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee, is the wife of the party’s Jeypur MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati.
She was elected as chairperson of Koraput Municipality twice earlier. She also held the president post of Koraput district Congress for 13 years from 2011 to 2023.
