Meerut: Muskan Rastogi and her lover Sahil Shukla, who are accused of killing former’s husband Saurabh Rajput in Meerut, reportedly demanded to be lodged together in the jail or at nearby barracks. “They arrived (in the jail) 3 days ago and they said that they be lodged together or nearby barracks. They were told that as per the system in jail, there is no contact between barracks for men and women. They are lodged in separate barracks,” Senior Jail Superintendent Viresh Raj Sharma told new agency, ANI.

Muskan Rastogi has also requested for a government defense counsel, stating that her family won’t fight case as they are “upset” with her. The duo is currently lodged in the Meerut District Jail. They have been accused of stabbing Rajput to death on March 4. The lovers later chopped his body into multiple pieces and hid those in a drum filled with cement.

“Yesterday, Muskan wanted to meet me, I called her. She said that her family is upset and won’t fight her case. So, she be provided a government Defense counsel. We are sending a plea to the court because it is the right of the inmate,” Sharma said.

Muskan, Sahil refused food, wanted drugs

According to reports, they have also been diagnosed with drug addiction issues. Rastogi demanded morphine injections in jail and Shukla craved for marijuana, the Hindustan Times reported. The duo also refused food. It is a sign common in those undergoing drug withdrawals. According to Sharma, both are being treated with medicines for their withdrawal symptoms through de-addiction centres.

Rastogi and Shukla are also being given counselling and sent for Yoga and meditation sessions.

Muskan’s father demands death penalty for her

Muskan’s father Pramod, who took her to the police station to make her confess to the crime, wanted capital punishment for his daughter’s “very wrong’ actions. “The verdict, in this case, should come fast, and I don’t want anything less than capital punishment for her. What she did is very wrong…my son-in-law should get justice,” he told ANI.
