New Delhi: The Indian Sugar Mills’ Association (ISMA) on Wednesday launched a portal named meetha.org to provide proper information on sugar.
Through this portal, ISMA hopes to educate consumers about sugar and debunk myths about it.
The per capita sugar consumption in the country is 19 kg a year while the world average is 23 kg.
Between 2000 and 2016, the growth has been 1.25 per cent.
The portal will hold workshops and webinars to provide information on use and value of natural sugar, ISMA said in a statement.
