Sambalpur: In a shocking incident, a 14-year-old mentally challenged girl was allegedly raped and impregnated at a village in Odisha’s Sambalpur district.
As per information, the incident took place under the jurisdiction of Govindpur police station of the district. The girl, who cannot speak or hear, underwent a medical examination after her family suspected pregnancy. Doctors confirmed the pregnancy, leading the family to file a written complaint with the police.
Based on the complaint lodged by the victim’s mother, police registered a case and launched an investigation. Statements of several people are being recorded as part of the probe.
