Mercury Dips To 6.9°C In Odisha, 24 Places, Including Cuttack City, Records Temp Below 15°C
Bhubaneswar: Koraput’s Similiguda was the coldest place in Odisha recording the lowest night temperature at 6.9°C followed by Kirei in Sundargarh at 8.7°C, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Thursday.
At least 24 places in the state recorded minimum temperatures below 15 degree Celsius:
- Similiguda in Koraput: 6.9
- Koraput: 7.8
- Kirei in Sundargarh: 8.7
- Phulabani: 9
- Daringbadi in Kandhamal: 10
- Jharsuguda and Sundergarh: 10.5
- Bhawanipatna: 10.6
- Nabarangpur: 11
- Keonjhar:11.6
- Sonepur: 12.2
- Angul:12.6
- Balangir: 12.8
- Deogarh: 13
- Hirakud: 13.3
- Kendrapada: 13.4
- Baripada: 13.5
- Balasore: 13.6
- Bargarh: 13.8
- Sambalpur and Titlagarh: 14
- Boudh and Bhadrak: 14.5
- Cuttack: 14.6
Bhubaneswar recorded 15.2 degree Celsius.
The IMD has forecast no large change in the night temperature for the next 24 hours. The mercury may rise by 2-3 degree Celsius in the subsequent days. It has also forecast rain in some parts of southern districts of Odisha on December 9-10.
