Jaipur: Noted playback singer Sonu Nigam expressed his disappointed after Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma walked out of his musical concert midway.
After the incident, a miffed Sonu Nigam sent out a message to all the politicians across the country. The singer, in a video message shared on his Instagram handle, said that if the dignitaries are not interested in an event, then they shouldn’t attend it. But, if they attend an event, then they should stay till the end of it and not walk out of it midway.
“I saw that CM sahab and others got up and left in the middle of the show. As soon as they left, all the delegates also left. This is my request to all these politicians that if you yourself do not appreciate your artist then what will the people outside do. What would they think? I have never seen such a thing,” said the singer.
“My request to you is that if you have to get up and leave, either you should not come or should leave before the show starts. It is very rude to get up and leave in the middle of any artist’s performance. This is an insult to Saraswati,” he added.
The singer further said that though he didn’t see the minister and his delegates leaving his concert, but he received messages from his fans asking him not to do shows for politicians. “Later I received many messages from people asking me to not do shows like this anymore for politicians where they get up and leave midway,” said Nigam.
He continued, “I know you have a lot of work… You should not waste your time on a show. You should leave early. Very humbly, it’s a request to all of you.”
The musical concert, held at Hotel Rambagh Palace in Jaipur, was organised as a part of a cultural evening for delegates attending the three-day Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit.
The three day summit at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre in Sitapura was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday.
