New Delhi: Bollywood actor and the messiah of migrant labourers Sonu Sood on Sunday launched a new initiative to help people rendered jobless during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Under the initiative titled ‘Khud kamaao ghar chalao’ , the actor will be gifting e-rickshaws to jobless people.
Sharing about the initiative on his Instagram handle, Sonu wrote, “I have received a lot of love from people over the past few months. And that has motivated me to continue being there for them. So, I have launched the ‘Khud kamaao ghar chalaao’ initiative. I believe providing job opportunities is more important than distributing supplies. I’m sure that this initiative will help them stand on their feet yet again by making them self-reliant and self-sufficient.”
Earlier, Sonu had launched the Pravasi Rojgar app, a platform which provided 50,000 job opportunities to the unemployed.
The app connects people to multiple companies and also offers programs for improving skills.
During the nationwide lockdown, the actor had arranged transportation for ferrying the stranded migrant labourers home.
He had also distributed food packets among the needy and provided PPE kits.
