Cuttack: Justice Dixit Krishna Shripad has been transferred from Karnataka High Court to Orissa High Court.
The Ministry of Law and Justice notified his transfer on Thursday. “In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 222 of the Constitution of India, the President, after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, is pleased to transfer Shri Justice Dixit Krishna Shripad, Judge, Karnataka High Court, to be a Judge of the Orissa High Court and to direct him to assume charge of his office in the Orissa High Court,” it said.
The Supreme Court Collegium, headed by Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna, recommended this transfer during meetings held on April 15 and 19, 2025, with the aim of enhancing judicial diversity and the quality of justice delivery.
With this, the number of judges in Orissa HC has gone up to 19.
Justice Dixit , born on July 20, 1964, was initially appointed as an Additional Judge of the Karnataka High Court on February 14, 2018, and became a Permanent Judge on January 7, 2020. Prior to his judicial appointment, he served as the Additional Solicitor General for the Karnataka High Court.
