Bargarh: An eight-year-old girl was found dead in a jungle in Bargarh district on Monday.
The body of the girl, Kousalya Pandey, was recovered near Jogendranathpur village under Paikamal police limits.

Kousalya had been missing since Sunday evening, according to a complaint lodged by her father at Paikamal police station.
Based on the complaint, police launched a search for the girl and found her body in the jungle near her village.
Though the exact cause of Kousalya’s death is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that she was raped and then murdered, police sources said.
Investigation into the matter is on.
