According to sources, she was held captive in a room at Konark Market Complex, about two km away from the Sun Temple, and allegedly forced into prostitution.
The incident came to light after the woman in her late twenties managed to slip out of the room and screamed for help from the terrace. She was rescued by locals and police with the help of fire brigade personnel, who broke open the door of the room.
A native of Howrah district, she was escorted to Konark by a middleman who promised her a job, the sources added.
