Rourkela: A minor girl was allegedly subjected to sexual assault by her father’s friend for over last two years in Odisha’s Rourkela.
As per information, the incident came to light after the girl, aged around 17 years, mustered courage and narrated her ordeal before her family.
After learning about the incident, the family members of the girl lodged a complaint with the at Raghunathpali police station. It was alleged that the man, who was like a relative, sexually abused the minor girl for past two years.
The accused has also threatened the girl that he would kill her if she complained to her family about his act.
The minor girl, who studies in a local school, was medically examined, the police informed.
The accused, identified as Rajen Srivastav (48) of Civil Township, has reportedly been absconding after the girl’s family approached the police.
Investigation is in progress and efforts are on to trace the accused.
