Nayagarh: An unidentified miscreant hurled a petrol bomb at a petrol pump in Singapada area under Khandapada police limits of Odisha’s Nayagarh district on Friday.

As per reports, the miscreant had come to fill petrol in his two-wheeler on Thursday night when he engaged in an argument with one of the employees over a trivial issue. The infuriated man returned in the wee hours of Friday and blasted the bomb on the pump premises. A fuel dispenser machine caught fire, however, no one was injured.

On being informed, a fire brigade team rushed to the spot and doused the flames. A case has been registered at Khandapada police station and probe is on.

“In the CCTV footage which was retrieved from the filling station, the miscreant was seen hurling the bomb. Our employees along with the fire brigade personnel had to struggle to douse the fire by spraying extinguishers and sand,” said Debashis Paramguru, manager of the petrol pump.
