Miscreants Loot House After Tying Up Family In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A gang of armed miscreants looted a house after tying up four family members on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on Saturday.

According to police sources, the miscreants targeted the house of Rakesh Chand at Maruti Vihar area under Nandakanan police limits in the city in the week hours of the day. Rakesh was sleeping in the bedroom along with his wife and two children when he heard somebody trying to break the lock of the door which was closed from inside.

As Rakesh and his wife shouted at pitch of their voice, 7-8 persons wearing masks and holding knives, iron rod and other weapons attacked them. The miscreants took hold of the children and threatened the couple to keep quiet.

The looters closed the family inside the bathroom and closed it from outside. They ransacked the entire house in search of cash and valuables. Then they took the keys of the steel almirah from Rakesh by threatening him. They took out cash and gold jewellery worth around Rs 7 lakh and left.

Later, Rakesh filed a complaint at Nandankanan police station about the loot. A team of police officers including Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh along with sniffer dogs went to the spot and started investigation.
