Miscreants Set Fire To SBI ATM After Loot In Odisha’s Koraput

Koraput: Unidentified miscreants allegedly set fire to an ATM kiosk of State Bank of India (SBI) after looting lakhs of rupees in Odisha’s Koraput district on Saturday.

According to sources, 4 miscreants came in a car to the ATM kiosk in front of the SBI branch at Balda under Padua police station of Nandapur block in the district at around 4 am. They broke open the ATM machine with a gas cutter and took out the cash box. They then set fire to the machine but left the CCTV camera untouched.

They carried the cash box to Padua where they took out the cash and dumped the box near a pond. The cash box contained around Rs 32 lakh. It cash was stocked on Friday, the sources said.

On finding the burnt ATM kiosk, the locals informed the police. A police team led by Nandapur SDPO Sanjay Kumar Mahapatra and Padua IIC Sabyasachi Satpathy went to the spot and started investigation.

The police team have seized the footage from the CCTV camera of the bank for further investigation. The entire operation of the miscreants has been captured in the CCTV camera, police sources said.
